Quick Mount PV Introduces Tile Replacement Mount for Simple and Clean Solar Installations on Tile Roofs

WALNUT CREEK, CA May 25, 2016 – Today, Quick Mount PV introduced the Tile Replacement Mount for rooftop solar installations. Installing solar on tile roofs can be difficult and time-consuming. Quick Mount's Tile Replacement Mount provides a fast and easy way to install solar on tile roofs while protecting against water intrusion. The Tile Replacement Mount eliminates messy and time-consuming tile grinding and cutting to significantly reduce installation time and labor costs. The new mount works with all standard curved and flat tile roofs, as well as all standard rail-based racking systems. The Tile Replacement Mount is fully engineered to meet code requirements and industry best practices, and features Quick Mount’s patented Elevated Water Seal Technology™ Technology™ for superior waterproofing.

"We saw a need in the marketplace for a simple and efficient method to mount solar on tile without compromising waterproofing or code requirements" said Quick Mount PV CEO Claudia Wentworth.

“The Tile Replacement Mount is really innovative - it not only makes installs go much faster, but also creates spare tiles on the job,” said Dean Rafaat, owner of Wired into the Future Solar, a solar installer based in Pleasant Hill, California. “Because there’s no tile grinding or cutting necessary, it really reduces our installation time. We just measure out the roof, put the mounts in, replace the tiles and start laying modules. And the stress relief of having extra tiles is priceless!”

The Tile Replacement Mount features a universal base mount, which works with all three flashing profiles: Flat tile, S-shaped, and W-shaped curved tiles. To offer installers and distributors cost effective stocking and packaging flexibility, the universal base mount is sold separately from the flashings and posts.

The Tile Replacement Mount is 100% IBC compliant and comes with a 20-year warranty.

SolarWorld endorses industry shift to rail-free racking for solar installations
Company announces distribution of Quick Mount PV systems

HILLSBORO, Ore. – SolarWorld, the largest U.S. solar manufacturer for 40 years, today announced its alignment with an industry trend away from use of long rails in mounting solar panels and toward rail-free racking in light of the latter’s cost savings in materials, labor, storage and shipping. Innovative rail-free racking attaches the solar panels directly to individual roof mounts, instead of conventional, long rails.

“Rail-free residential racking fits well into SolarWorld’s portfolio of the best solar products on the market,” said Ardes Johnson, U.S. vice president of sales and marketing for SolarWorld. “Our rail-free racking systems offer lower material costs, reduce installation time on often hot roofs, take up a much smaller warehouse footprint, cost significantly less to ship and, at the end of the job, look better.”

In SolarWorld’s drive to bring the market’s best products to installers, SolarWorld announced an alliance with Quick Mount PV, a leading U.S. manufacturer of solar roof mounts based in Walnut Creek, Calif. Quick Mount’s patented Quick Rack rail-free system upholds the company’s best-in-class standards of quality and customer experience.

“Quick Mount is honored to be a part of this select group of racking vendors and industry elite,” said Anne Wright, vice president of sales for Quick Mount. “SolarWorld and Quick Mount have the same values and standards that installers can bank on: made in America, commitment to quality, customer support, training and manufacturing excellence. With simplified ordering from SolarWorld, we believe installers can save time and money on every installation, and sell more solar. When good companies work together, the industry moves forward.”

As a result of the alliance, SolarWorld will offer the Quick Rack rail-free systems alongside other best-in-industry residential, commercial and utility-scale solar products.

“SolarWorld is carrying out its history of providing products that live up to the high expectations and requirements of its customers and partners,” Johnson said. “We are committed to providing whatever level of support that our customers need to help them have more success in an increasingly competitive landscape.”

WALNUT CREEK, CA – Quick Mount PV announced today that its full line of Classic Composition, Classic Shake and E-Mount products have now earned ICC-ES (International Code Council - Evaluation Services) certification, the building industry's most respected and widely accepted stamp of approval for waterproofing and structural integrity.

Quick Mount PV's E-Mount, E-Mount Lag and Classic Composition Lag mounts were certified this month under the ICC-ES report ESR-3744. The company's Classic Composition and Classic Shake Mounts were certified in 2010 under ICC-ES report ESR-2835.

    About ICC-ES

ICC-ES is a nonprofit, limited liability company that does technical evaluations of building products, components, methods, and materials. The evaluation process culminates with the issuance of technical reports that, because they directly address the issue of code compliance, are extremely useful to both regulatory agencies and building-product manufacturers. Agencies use evaluation reports to help determine code compliance and enforce building regulations; manufacturers use reports as evidence that their products (and this is especially important if the products are new and innovative) meet code requirements and warrant regulatory approval. ICC-ES evaluation reports are public documents, available free of charge on the worldwide Web, not only to building regulators and manufacturers, but also to contractors, specifiers, architects, engineers, and anyone else with an interest in the building industry. All of these people look to ICC-ES evaluation reports for evidence that products and systems are code-compliant.

Quick Mount PV Introduces Quick Rack™
Innovative Rail-Free Mounting System Saves Time and Money on Solar Installation

WALNUT CREEK, CA – Today, Quick Mount PV introduced the Quick Rack™ Rail-Free Mounting System for solar rooftop installations. The Quick Rack system integrates the roof mount and the racking to significantly reduce material handling, installation time and labor costs.

By eliminating long rails, Quick Rack can be packaged in small boxes, making the entire mounting system easy to transport, warehouse and deliver to the rooftop.

"We saw a need in the marketplace for a simple, flexible, high-quality rail-free system," said Quick Mount PV CEO Claudia Wentworth. "Quick Rack advances our mission to make rooftop solar even more affordable and accessible."

Quick Rack is engineered for strength and structural integrity, and works with standard module frames. Installation requires just a single tool. Micro-inverters and optimizers attach to the module frame with simple mounting brackets designed by Quick Mount PV. Wire management is easily achieved by clipping the wires to the module frames.

“Quick Rack is really innovative - it makes installs go much faster,” said Peter Fobare, Partner at Apex Solar Power, a solar installation firm based in New York. “Quick Rack cuts close to 50 percent off our installation time. We just measure out the roof, put the mounts in, and start laying modules. When we tighten down the Panel Clamps, the system neatly comes together into a smooth, uniform plane."

Quick Rack comes with proprietary design software that simply and accurately configures the array to ensure code-compliance. Arrays can be designed in landscape, portrait or mixed orientation, and the design software readily accommodates any obstructions on the roof.

The Quick Rack System consists of three primary components:

The Base Mount incorporates a pre-assembled, adjustable top slider and features Quick Mount PV's patented Elevated Water Seal Technology™ Technology™ to deliver industry-best waterproofing.

The innovative Panel Clamp attaches the modules to the mounts and also functions as a self-leveling bridge to securely connect the modules together, transforming the module frames into structural components of the array. Integrated grounding pins eliminate the need to run long copper wires across the roof, and require only one grounding lug for the entire array.

A snap-on Skirt gives the finished array a clean, distinctive look.

The Quick Rack system is UL 2703 listed and has a UL 1703 System Class A Fire Rating, Type 1 Modules.

Quick Mount PV will be exhibiting at Solar Power International, October 21–23 in Las Vegas, Nevada, with live Quick Rack presentations throughout the show. Booth # 1412.

The Solar Industry Comes Together for an Evening Full of Talented Performances at Another Packed Solar Battle of the Bands

San Francisco, CA (July 17, 2014) The fourth annual Solar Battle of the Bands, a solar industry party and musical competition presented this year by founder Quick Mount PV and new presenter, S-5!, took place Wednesday, July 9, during the 2014 Intersolar North America trade show. Attended by an enthusiastic crowd of 1200, the after-hours event at the Mezzanine featured bands formed entirely of employees from solar companies. Attendees of the event voted for their favorite band at the end of the night.

    The crowd

The evening kicked off with what is now an SBOB tradition- Christie McCarthy singing her original solar anthem “Rise And Shine.” The Quick Mount PV house band “Northerner and the Rafters” also followed with an original song, “Reasons.”

    The Killa Watts

At the end of the evening Sungevity’s band “The Killa Watts” prevailed as the winner for the second year in a row. Their funky set included a rousing rendition of lesser-known R&B song, “Leave my Kitten Alone” by Little Willie John. Other highlights of the night included Exosun’s “Je veux du soleil” by Au P'tit Bonheur, a fun, French number to kick-off the battle. RGS Energy took the stage next featuring an awesome guitar solo during their version of “Magic Carpet Ride” by Steppenwolf. Next up was SolarCity with an energetic and beautifully sung rendition of Amy Winehouse song, “Valerie”, and Inovateus Solar came through with their promise to write and perform an original song for the battle (the first original song by any competing band) entitled, “New Paradise”, written about the solar industry.

Solar Battle of the Bands was made possible by generous support from company sponsors Inovateus Solar, Wiley, AEE Solar, Renesola, Mounting Systems Inc. and S:FLEX, with media/nonprofit sponsors SolarPro, Solar Power World, Intersolar North America, and NABCEP.

Video highlights from this year’s event will be available on the SBOB website and YouTube page next week. Photos from the event are available on the Solar Battle of the Bands Facebook page: www.facebook.com/SolarBattleoftheBands. Photo credit should be given to Todd Coleman.

Quick Mount PV Named California Climate Leader

Quick Mount PV, a leading manufacturer of solar roof mounts, was honored with the 4th annual CoolCalifornia Climate Leader Award, received at a ceremony held on February 13th at the Cal EPA Headquarters

Quick Mount PV's CEO, Claudia Wentworth and Sustainability Manager, Jason Hannigan accepting Climate Leader Award in Sacramento.

The CoolCalifornia Small Business Awards Program recognizes California small businesses that have demonstrated significant reductions in their greenhouse gas emissions and incorporated climate and environmentally friendly practices into their business operations during 2013.

This year’s 13 award winners were selected from applicants across the state and represent a wide variety of business sectors.

Quick Mount PV was recognized as a Climate Leader by reducing its total energy usage by seven percent - down 64,000 kWh from the previous year. De-lamping light fixtures, optimizing HVAC schedules, and using hybrid and electric company vehicles prevented 46 metric tons of CO2 emissions from polluting the atmosphere.

Additional climate-friendly business practices included purchasing eighty percent recycled cardboard, sixty-eight percent recycled metal used in manufacturing, and maintaining on-site composting for an employee-run, organic garden.

“We are honored to be named a Climate Leader in the state of California,” says CEO Claudia Wentworth. “Small changes to our daily business operations have had a huge impact on our greenhouse gas emissions, not to mention our bottom line. We appreciate CoolCalifornia’s efforts to recognize and support green businesses.”
