Specialty Flat Tile Mount
Item Code: QMFTM
Quick Mount PV's Specialty Flat Tile Mount dramatically reduces the time and effort needed to double flash flat tile roof penetrations. For flashing at the tile level, we've pre-fabricated an aluminum "tile" designed to drop directly into a standard 12" x 17" flat tile roof. Just replace the tile; there's no tile drilling or cutting. Some mounts will require attachment to blocking where rafter does not align with center.
Features
- Works with all standard concrete tile roofs
- Flashed at both the deck and top level
- Meets or exceeds tile roofing best practices
- All fasteners and hardware included
- All exposed hardware is stainless steel
- 10-year warranty; 50-year expected life
- Available through leading distributors
- 100% IBC compliant
- No tile cutting, no tile drilling
- Works with all leading racks
- Patent number 7,861,485
- Made in USA

The aluminum subflashing is sized for easy code compliance, and molded to fit snugly over the mounting plate and removable standoff. Use standard roofing methods at the deck – bibbing or 3-coursing, for instance – to seal off rain from the penetrations and fasteners. All exposed components are aluminum, stainless steel or EPDM rubber to help keep penetrations watertight for the life of the PV system and most roofs.
WARNING: Quick Mount PV products are NOT designed for and should NOT be used to anchor fall protection equipment.

Tile Roof Waterproofing Methods
All Quick Mount PV tile mounting products are designed to comply with the roofing best practices listed by the Tile Roofing Institute (TRI) for tile penetration flashing (MC-02). The photos below show our QBase Universal Tile Mount. The same waterproofing methods apply to all our tile mounting products. For more info go to www.tileroofing.org or contact .
Three-course Method
If permitted by the building inspector, the three-course method may be an option for waterproofing the deck flashing. This process uses a layer of asphalt roof cement (approved by the roof manufacturer), a layer of reinforcing fabric, and another layer of asphalt roof cement to seal the flashing to the felt paper. Click here to download step-by-step instructions to use the three-course method with our tile roof products. (PDF 617K)
Felt Paper Bibbing Method
In retrofit installations where the standoff and primary flashing do not fall in a position that is close to the overlap of felt paper, an approach that is sometimes called "bibbing" can be used. When the overlapping drip edge of the felt paper ends in the tile course above the penetration, a separate piece of felt paper is positioned under the battens and overlapping felt, which then extends down to bib around the penetration and over the deck flashing.
